Glenn Sinclair, professor, mechanical engineering, David Wetzel, associate professor, chemical engineering, Ramachandran Vaidyanathan, associate professor electrical and computer engineering and Isabelina Nahmens, assistant professor and Charles Pecquet, instructor, construction management and industrial engineering, will receive the 2011 Tiger Athletic Foundation Michael R. Mangham College of Engineering Memorial Teaching Award. These College of Engineering faculty members have demonstrated excellence in instruction.

Recipients will be recognized at this year's annual LSU Distinguished Faculty Awards Reception, which will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at the Lod Cook Alumni Center.

“I feel honored to be chosen as a recipient of a 2011 TAF teaching award. It definitely has a positive impact to have your efforts recognized,” said Pecquet. “Even though I play a small part, I’m hoping my efforts help LSU achieve its flagship goals. I hope to continue having a positive impact both on campus and in the community.”

In celebration of the life of the former chairman of the Tiger Athletic Foundation and LSU football player, Michael Ray "Mickey" Mangham, the Tiger Athletic Foundation has created a Memorial Scholarship in his honor. He graduated from LSU in 1962 with a petroleum engineering degree, and he earned a law degree from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1966.

The Tiger Athletic Foundation ("TAF") is a nonprofit corporation that works to support LSU and the athletic program. TAF plays significant roles in the lives of current student-athletes and those that have graduated from the University. Throughout the years, TAF has also contributed to the LSU community by providing private funding and scholarships, new facilities and facility upgrades.

Though TAF highlights the athletic abilities of the LSU Tigers, it does not overlook the dedication of dynamic professors that diligently work with the student-athletes in the classroom.
