The Northrop Grumman Foundation recently presented the LSU College of Engineering with a $2,000 check to support diversity scholarship funds in the electrical/computer, mechanical, and construction management/industrial engineering disciplines. Chris Remont, Director of Electrical Engineering for Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding for the Gulf Coast personally delivered the contribution to the College on March 11, 2010.

“Some of the best people I hired are from LSU,” said Remont. “This is an investment in our future because LSU provides a large group of our industrial engineers in our New Orleans facility.”

According to their website, “Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security company whose 120,000 employees provide innovative systems, products, and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems, shipbuilding and technical services to government and commercial customers worldwide. Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, a newly-formed sector of Northrop Grumman Corporation is made up of the former Northrop Grumman Ship Systems and Northrop Grumman Newport News shipbuilding sectors.”
