The annual Shell Campus Blitz took place on Friday, August 22, 2008, at the Dalton Woods Auditorium and later at Mike Anderson’s restaurant in Baton Rouge. The LSU community met with Shell representatives to discuss the company’s relationship with LSU and to receive a generous check for $154,500. From that gift, $65,000 will go to the College of Engineering to fund the Chemical Engineering Unit Operations Lab, the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, the Mechanical Engineering 3-2 Master’s Program, and Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering undergraduate students. In addition, $14,000 will go toward the Minority Engineering Program with the Recruitment into Engineering of High-Ability Multi-cultural Students Scholarship (REHAMS). LSU and the College of Engineering thank Shell for their continued commitment to education through their generous support of our state’s flagship university.
