The College of Engineering’s (CoE) Office for Diversity recently submitted a proposal to the Engineering Information Foundation titled “Gender Equity Faculty Workshop Series.” The grant was approved for $11,925.

Akilah Taylor, Faculty Programs and Development Coordinator, hopes that the Gender Equity Faculty Workshop Series will provide CoE faculty the understanding and training they need to proactively contribute to the retention and graduation of female engineering students.

The selection process for the grant was rigorous, as well as competitive. The proposals were judged on overall quality of the project, including its chances to be successfully implemented, the project’s capability to contribute to what is known about furthering the goals of the program area and potential for continuing past the funding period.
