November 14, 2006

On November 14, 2006, Leszek S. Czarnecki, Alfredo M. Lopez Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Fellow IEEE, was granted a Titled Professor degree in Technological Sciences by the President of the Republic of Poland.

Dr. Czarnecki (www.lsczar.info) was nominated to this degree by the Scientific Council of the Electrical Department of Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. This nomination was then confirmed by the National Council for Scientific Grades.

This honorary title is not associated with any academic position, but is in recognition of his contribution to electrical engineering. His research results, published in more than one hundred journal papers, have contributed to the solution of one of the most controversial problems of electrical engineering in the last century, namely, explanation of physical phenomena associated with energy flow in electrical systems. The “Currents’ Physical Components (CPC) Power Theory” of electrical systems he developed provides physical interpretation of power phenomena in such systems and theoretical fundamentals for improving the effectiveness of electric energy delivery.
