Representatives from Chevron were on hand January 3 rd to present LSU with a philanthropic contribution totaling $150,000 to benefit various units on campus. Receiving the largest allocation, the College of Engineering garnered $90,000 earmarked for undergraduate scholarships and unrestricted departmental support. Chevron’s charitable gift also provided assistance to professional student organizations dedicated to advancing the engineering profession at LSU.

“The College of Engineering has enjoyed a long and mutually-beneficial partnership with Chevron. We are greatly appreciative of their continued support of engineering education at LSU,” said Zaki Bassiouni, Dean of the College of Engineering.

Chevron, the fifth-largest integrated energy company in the world, is headquartered in San Ramon, California, and is conducting business in approximately 180 countries. The company is actively engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation.
