Faculty and staff are invited to this interactive workshop, presented by Saundra McGuire, which will help attendees understand why many students lack confidence in their ability to learn and have difficulty achieving student learning outcomes. Cognitive science research-based methods that can be used to facilitate conceptual, transferable learning will be discussed. Additionally, data will be presented that supports the efficacy of teaching students about metacognitive learning strategies and mindset. The strategies work equally well for students in STEM and non-STEM courses. Send any questions you may have to Adrienne Steele at alopez@lsu.edu.
