October 03-04, 2016
LSU Main Campus

The symposium will serve as a frank discussion on the tensions and tragedies that took place in our city and across the nation during the summer of 2016. Two full days of events will take place on Oct. 3-4 on campus. Featured speakers include Don Lemon, CNN host and Baton Rouge native, who will discuss the "moment" under a lens of media and the focus of specific events, while our keynote speaker, Dr. Norman Francis, will provide a broader view of the "movement," spanning his lifetime as a civil rights pioneer. Lemon speaks at 5 p.m. on Oct. 4, and Dr. Francis at 6:30 p.m. For more information on the symposium, click here.
